Vintage Necklace Workshop

Vinatge Necklace Workshop - 24/06/09Today we have been busy preparing for our vintage necklace workshop, which is been held in the shop on wednesday evening. We have put together all the Swaovski Pearls and Crystals – there are a lovely choice of three color schemes to choose from. This lovely necklace has been very popular so far and we are already booked up – here is a quick picture of the example necklace that I made earlier today.

Scrap & Chat

We had a lovely evening last night at our scrap and chat – it was great to sit down and chat to like minded people whilst creating with no interuptions! Best of all it actually pinned me down to create a whole scrapbook page! I tried to utalise white space on my page as much as possible as often I use lots of papers, embellishments and colors.  I still have the all important journaling left to do but here is a little pic for you! I’m sure you can guess the subject! It could only be RANGER U!

Ranger U Scrapbook Page made during Scrap and Chat 19/08/09

This page was created using Scenic Route Patterned paper and the lovely bird die from Sizzix. I also inked the edges in Fired Brick distress ink and stamp an image in the corner using the New Elusive Stamps. Ranger U was created using Doodlebug Rub-ons.

I have been working on the new workshop listings in the last week so keep your eyes peeled for more information soon!

Tag Box stammped using the resist technqiue and using Claudine Hellmuth paints to decorate

As promised, I am uploading some of the pictures of the technqiques which we learnt at Ranger U – throughout the three days we completed 50 technique tags with Tim, a wall art piece with Suze using items made in the melt art pot, a tag box with Claudine and another 10 technique tags with Claudine! These tags are a great canvas to work on when learning new techniques and is something we have done previously in our own workshops. Below are some of our favorites from the weekend and we will be adding more in the next week or so-we can’t wait to try these out on new projects!

This tag has been inked with distress inks and stamped using Distress Inks and Embossing Powders. Its such a shame you cannot feel the texture of the embossing powder as it is quite rough and really adds interest to the image.

This tag was made using the Distress Products on Saturday afternoon! We used distress inks to create the background and then stamped an image in distress inks with embossing powder. It is such a shame that you cannot feel the texture of the distress embosing powder on the image. It really makes the tag come to life as it is quite rustic and really does feel old and antique like!

This picture shows part of the Melt Art Wall Hanging which we created. The Butterfly was made very simply and looks amazing (its actually a cm thick! This makes a great scrapbooking embellishment or even a unique paperweight!

Whoooooooo! Introducing the UK’s newest Ranger Educators…….

Ranger Educators 2009Margaret and Claire!!!!!!!!!!! Yeh! We have just arrived back from the USA – very jet lagged and tired – but we would not have missed this fantastic opportunity for the world! We learnt so much and were privilaged to have been taught by Suze Weinberg, Claudine Hellmeth & TIM HOLTZ! Who were each absolutly fantastic and we cannot wait to have Claudines products grace our shelves here at Creative Moments (do not fear – they are currently en-route!) We were the only members of the group from the UK and were joined by many amazing and talented individuals including Margo Potter (author of The Impatient Beader….), Heidi Swapp (creator of the fabulous Heidi Swapp range as sold at Creative Moments), Donna Downey (Fab Mixed Media Designer who created Primas Canvas Books) and others from all over the Globe, including France, Canada, USA and Austrailia. We were treated well with a hugggggggggeeeeee  box of Ranger Products to play with and bring home (which is also en-route as it was far too much to come back on our plane!!), a bbq and scrummy food each day as well as an exclusive tour of the Ranger Factory. This was an absolute highlight of our trip as it was amazing to watch the products been created and packed – we were even allowed our own bottle of stickles straight from the production line!! You would never believe all the processes which that one bottle of stickles will go through before been put onto the shelves! More pictures and samples of what we learnt and created will be uploaded asap once we’ve managed to catch up on everything – we also have lots of exciting ideas and projects in the pipeline so watch this space…………………………………………………..
